Now, here is the fight aspect: We set aside the last three hours on Saturday night for an actual Songfight! Live. The fightmasters would post the fight title, say, two weeks before the event. Then everyone who attends SFL, or maybe just the people who feel like writing for it, writes a song for that title and they all get up and play the song one after the other during those last three hours. At the end of the three hours the audience votes on who they like the best. We all cheer, maybe present a trophy of some kind and consolation prizes for the runners up, and go downtown to get smashed.

Ok, peeps, we've got a venue for two days. We go all festival style and plan to be there from 3pm - 10pm both days. That should provide plenty of time for everyone to play as well as allow time after each evening for people to go get even more plastered in actual bars. Hell, you could even play SFL and then go see a show afterwards.
Everyone gets a 30 minute slot in which to play whatever Songfight! songs they want. I've asked Moboid to be in charge of creating the order of the bands. To make it possible for her to do this I need everyone who is going to attend to send an e-mail to songfight@moboid.com with your band's name and a list of songs you'd like to play that would fit into a half-hour time slot.
