Hoblit lives in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa near downtown. Tampa does have a bus system but its not real thorough and does not run nearly as frequently as most major cities. However it can be useful with enough planning. While hailing a cab is possible within its several city centers such as Downtown, Channelside, and Ybor City areas, its best to keep United Cab's number handy.

Points of interest like Channelside, Ybor City, and Hoblit's own neighborhood's Old Hyde Park are all good for shopping, entertainment and night life. However, Tampa is just one city in the area known as Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay in its entirey includes several other smaller cities with St. Petersburg and Clearwater being the next largest hubs.

Clearwater's biggest feature is its very popular beach. St. Petersburg offers Major League Baseaball, musuems, and its own exubrent night life downtown on the weekends. St. Petersburg, locally known as St. Pete is only about a 40 minute drive from Tampa and the beaches of Clearwater are less than a full hour out as well. There are several beach hotels that can be looked into between St. Pete Beach all the way up to beaches north of Clearwater. Treasure Island is a small beach community popular for the tourists. So if you plan to come down for a few extra days, you'll have plenty to do and remember, Orlando is less than a two hour drive on I-4 east.

And we would be remiss if we did not mention the world famous (and NSFW link) Mons Venus gentlemen's club in Tampa.
